Climate Anomalies 2007

This is a map showing what took place last year that NOAA considered to be a bit outside the ordinary. Click on the red markers or the blue squigglies for additional information. The tropical storms of last year pale in comparison to the havoc wreaked in Myanmar, but they were still plenty strong…enough so that NOAA analysts included them in this list. climateanomalies.jpg

I am a Canadian of Bangladeshi Origin and ex-university faculty memeber in the Department of Geograp[hy and Environment, Dhaka University. Recently, I have returned to my motherland Now, I am working as the Head, Centre for Water and Environment, Bangladesh Unnayan Parishad (BUP), Dhaka. I am dedicated in environmental action programs as a process of copings and adaptation. Bangladesh, due to its Geographical location, is the most disaster prone and vulnerable country with over 150 million population (0ver 40% are living in vulnerable environment). Now, my current research project on 15 vulnerable districts "Household Risk Reduction Program (HRRP-CDMP)" is in implementation phase. I am fully convinced and supportive Environmental Defence Fund" program which is now confined within the USA. Since it is a common global problem, Can this program be extended internationally, particularly in Bangladesh ? If yes, please advise me how ? BUP website: www.bup-bd.org

Thank you
